The resurgence of the Classic IOM is sweeping Australia and New Zealand. Some of the Classics performed reall wellat the recent Australian National Championships with two boats qualifying for the Gold Fleet. Western Australia is about to join the movement with a regatta to be held at Harrington Waters on Sunday 14 November.

The Australian DF Radio Sailing Association (ADFRSA) has announced the team selected to represent Australia at the 2026 DF95 Global Championship, to be held on Theewaterskloof Dam near Cape Town, South Africa, in October 2026.

The vibrant Western Australian radio sailing scene continues to grow, and a recent visit to RC Sailing Busselton highlighted just how strong and welcoming the local club community is in the region.

Western Australian sailors will travel east in the coming weeks to compete in the Australian Championships for the Marblehead, Ten Rater, DF65 and DF95 classes, with events scheduled in Queensland and New South Wales.

What a wild day for sailing? Forecast was for south west winds between 14 to 25 knots with 3.2mls of rain between 12.30 to 4.00pm.

As usual the average winds were more like 5 - 15 knots but there were gusts over 20knots that laid over A and B rigged sail boats with ease.

Even experienced skippers were unable to keep the bow up above the water at times.

Sunday 27 July is the Perth Classic Regatta for both the IOM Class as well as the DF95 Class. Racing will commence nice and early - first race will be at 0930 hrs and will continue through until about 4.00pm - weather permitting!
